,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

One of the great things about blogging is that you can be a frivolous typer. Stream of consciousness with some wit and pictures tossed in gets an A+ in my book. No one's going to bust your chops about proper writing style. That's in direct contrast to my job, where hours can be spent scanning a brief for errant commas. Or periods that are inside a paren when they should be outside. My job rocks.

I do, however, give credit to this year for teaching me proper punctuation. The downside is that now when I'm looking through my blog, I check it for punctuation mistakes and other typos. I figure it's pointless to correct them, so I try to resist going back and making changes. But the consequence of resisting ex-post correction is that I find myself editing while I type. I'm now 90% sure that the comma usage in this entry is correct. An unverified website told me so. Commas, I've learned, are not to be trifled with. Strict rules, people.

Hey there, Goat

So we're back from the Tennessee Goat Festival. It gets 2 stars. There was a nice drive with autumn leaves and fried [fill in the blank with food of your choice]. For the record, fried oreos are tasty! But no fainting goats, sadly. They were all caged and their fleece-wearing professional breeders watched a bit too closely for me to pull a fast one. I tried to surreptitiously wave some hard-core spirit fingers on this one to see if he'd freeze and fall down:

No such luck. It was a fun excursion, but I think I've been spoiled by the utter fabulousness of the Houston Rodeo:

That's Rob celebrating his 2-for-1 turkey legs and Georgeann (post-fried cheesecake, pre-nausea-inducing carnival ride). Can't beat that action!

Potential Weekend Plans

It's the Tennessee Goat Extravaganza! Sounds similar to the Houston Rodeo, but no carnival and only one type of animal to see. Singular highlight--goats that freeze and faint from excitement. Only found in Tennessee, folks.

Lo Hicimos!

Rob proposed last week end and I said yes! Everyone is very excited. Too excited to remember to take photos! So here's a picture of another one of our favorite pairs.

No serious planning yet (although my mom is raring to go and start shooping for gowns and register). Right now, I'm practicing not running into walls when I walk while taking glances at my left hand. One small setback on that front, but I'm working on it. :)
