Becoming more believable

So, I'm not sure what happened to the last post, but the text won't show up no matter what I do. No matter -- I'll write a synoposis up again. My case from hell is over and we won!!! No need to go through a month-long, out of town trial! No need to go through the next two months with little sleep, zero free time, and the boss' unbearable oppression! Hooray!

Conversation #1:
"Did you hear that Mike's wife just had their baby? The baby came six weeks early."

Partner: "Oh they had their baby! But what about Mike's 5th Circuit argument? Was he still able to make that?"

Conversation #2:
Partner: "My wife keeps saying she wants a Blackberry or something. I won't let her."

Associate: "We're not in the dark ages here. Your wife can just go get one if she wants one."

Partner: "Yeah...but she doesn't make any money."
